PATRICIA KIRKLAND
Patricia Kirkland is drawn to Greek sculpture, Renaissance paintings and ancient healing practices. These influences shape and inform her collection. Tricia’s process is internal and intuitive. Rather than starting with a destination in mind, each piece unfolds between artist and medium, coming to life the way a sculpture emerges from stone. Her signature shapes are stylistic interpretations of natural and primitive forms. When her mother passed recently, she found a way to keep her close to her heart by enclosing the ashes in a gold crescent moon that she wears around her neck. That collection has now grown as she wanted to give others this same experience of having a unique and beautiful piece of jewelry to keep their loved one close. Tricia comes from the Lake District of north England and now studies the art of lost-wax casting with master craftsman Fred de Vos. in New York City.
